NATIONAL PARKS

In 1934, the Nahuel Huapi National Park was founded, beginning a new stage for the area, which slowly transformed in a center of tourist atracction. Exequiel Bustillo, from his position as the President of the institution, pushed forward the necessary developments to enable the access to the beauty of our landscapes.

National Parks imposed it´s architectonic aesthetic. The architect was Alejandro Bustillo, brother of Exequiel, inspired by the European tendencies (He belonged to a movement known as “Picturesque”, that combined different popular techniques of the European architecture)

It was preferred the use of local materials, wood and stone for the construction of the buildings. For the design of the public buildings, they worked with the corresponding institution, Post office, School, Jury or any other.

In order to promote tourism; they sold lots in preferential places for households valued in at least AR$ 35.000.- of the time. That´s how the places were acquired by families that belonged to the Buenos Aires´s high society, who were the only ones capable of costing such an investment and they traveled for tourism purposes. That´s how various residences were established. Such as “El Mesidor” that belongs to the Demaría Salas family, “Inalco” that belongs to the García Merou and “Inacayal” of the Dr. Pinedo among others.

Since then, our village has been growing and developing into this beautiful town we now share.
