THE STONEWORK

One of the characteristics of National Parks was the use of stone as a building material for construction of the walls and coating of the facades.

Artisans were brought from Europe for their knowledge of the stonework. This stones were transformed in blocks almost geometrically perfect. They were used in the high hierarchy constructions, public and private. However, as years passed, the stonework wasn’t as rigorous. It was still being used but with less precision. If you observe the building in front of you of what was the power plant, now a Museum and compare it with the Ranger´s House at your right; you´ll notice the difference.
