ARCHITECTURAL DISPLAY - 2nd STOP

FOUNDATION AND ISOLATION:

TYPES OF FOUNDATION:

The first houses were edified over wooden logs with a 20cm diameter or flattened stone settled with earth. In the 30s, concrete reaches the area with the arrival of the train. They continued making the same base but put together with concrete over which were settled wooden braces and on top of those, others minor ones where the wooden floor was laid over. On the sides, at a foundation level were installed vents for the floor to prevent wood from rotting because of humidity.

TYPES OF ISOLATION, PAINTS AND PROTECTORS

The walls were isolated with newspapers and cardboard. When the concrete arrived, it started being used for both isolation and lateral closings (formwork system).
