“LA ASUNCIÓN” CHAPEL

This chapel was inaugurated on September 11th of 1938 and it was designed and built along the one of Llao Llao and the Bariloche´s Cathedral. Inspired by the Norman style, it combines harmonically stone and wood giving an austere feel to its only nave.

Inside; stands out the stained glass and the Vía Crucis whose authors, Enrique Thomas and Juan Antonio Ballester Peña respectively, were renowned artists of the time.

On its altar, is a picture of “Ntra. Sra. de Santa Rosa de Lima”, that was donated by a family that had a summer house on the town. The painting uses a technique known as Cuzco School or Style on its late stage. This technique was developed in the Jesuit Missions of the Alto Peru and it´s characterized by the syncretism of its images, merging christian and native symbology.
